A more advanced way of making text for a sig using the quick clip mask mode in Photoshop.

I recommend adding your text before completely finishing your sig. It will blend better and hopefully pick up some lighting. When you are ready, create a new layer. Go to image>apply image and use the default settings. Nothing should look different, but you have just create a layer that has all the other layers combined into one. Now click (Q) on your keyboard or find this button>
. You just created a clipping mask.
Now create some text just like you would normally do, using the type tool (T). The rest of the sig should turn red.

Click somewhere else in the sig and it will flip flop. The text will be red and the background will be clear. Using the move tool (V), drag the text to the place in your sig you want the text to look similar to. That sounds confusing, but let me explain. If you want the text to be on a dark background, drag the text to a light place. If you go dark with dark or light with light, you will hardly be able to see the text when your finished.
Exit Mask Mode by pressing (Q) again or clicking on the same button you did before.

Then simply press delete. The only part that will be left on the layer is the text. You can now drag it to where you want it to be.
